Vanessa

Vanessa Ballard is a certified EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) therapist, a BABCP-accredited cognitive behavioural therapist, and a trained practitioner of ACT (acceptance commitment therapy), CFT (compassion focussed therapy), and mindfulness therapy. Vanessa has worked in a variety of NHS settings, including community mental health teams and within a specialist therapeutic service for military veterans. Although Vanessa has worked across the life-span, a majority of her experience has been working with adults.

Vanessa has expertise working with most mental health conditions and has a special interest working with those with a physical health conditions. Physical illness can be distressing, drastically affect one's life, and necessitate adaptations, all of which can deteriorate one's mental health. In addition to her expertise in treating patients with chronic pain, Vanessa has experience treating patients with CFS, ME, MS, diabetes, COPD, obesity, IBS, IBD, musculoskeletal issues, heart disorders, stroke, and post-stroke syndrome.
